Tongwei Group officially announced that as of the second quarter of 2022, the cumulative global shipments of Tongwei solar PV cells exceeded 100GW, becoming another important milestone on the road to sustainable development for Tongwei, and the industry’s first cell manufacturer to complete 100GW of cell shipments.
According to the introduction, 100GW cells can produce about 138.7 billion kWh of clean energy electricity annually, which can meet the electricity demand of 82.151 million urban and rural households for one year, which means reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 138 million tons, reducing sulfur dioxide emissions by 4.16 million tons and saving standard coal by about 55.48 million tons, which is equivalent to planting broadleaf forests of about 755,600 hectares.
In 2013, Tongwei formally entered the high-efficiency crystalline silicon solar cell segment and achieved profitability in the first year of production. 2017, Tongwei Solar put into production the world’s first Industry 4.0 high-efficiency cell production line. So far, Tongwei Solar has obtained nearly 500 valid patents.
