Indian media says Nothing may launch a “Lite” version of its Nothing Phone(1) phone

After debuting the Nothing Phone (1) earlier this month, Indian media outlet The Mobile Indian is reporting that Pei Yu’s Nothing appears to be introducing another device to the market this year. The phone is said to be a “lite” version of the Nothing Phone (1), which retains most of the hardware of the Snapdragon 778G+ device.

After months of marketing, Nothing finally debuted its Nothing Phone (1) a few weeks ago. The Pei Yu-run startup’s first attempt at the smartphone market seems to have gone fairly well, despite a few quality control hiccups that popped up.

Now, the company seems to be gearing up for its second smartphone.

According to new reports, Nothing is gearing up to launch a new smartphone after the Nothing Phone (1). The new device is widely considered by insiders to be a “lite” version of the original phone, with a focus on providing essentially the same experience, but at a lower price point.

The new Nothing Phone is said to retain most of the hardware from the Nothing Phone (1). This is said to continue with the Snapdragon 778G+, 6.55-inch FHD+120Hz AMOLED, 50MP rear camera, and 16MP selfie camera. However, this new device will ditch the Glyph backlight bar in favor of a simple glass back. Wireless charging also does not seem to be present.

The new phone could make its debut in India “during the festive season”. This could be a reference to Diwali in late October. Interestingly, however, sources say Nothing denies the existence of such a device. This is interesting because the company has a strong tendency to market its business and rarely tries to remain secretive before releasing a product, and in this case, outright denials are almost meaningless.
