Have you ever considered using an SSD with your DSLR or camcorder? Accessory maker Icy Dock recently launched the CP130, an accessory that supports M.2 NVMe SSDs through a CFExpress slot conversion.
The CP130 measures 55 x 130 x 20 mm and is made of durable plastic, with an overall weight of around 300 grams. The adapter is only available in black and fits most mainstream SLR cameras.
The CP130 has a standard built-in 1/4″ camera screw that allows the adapter to be mounted on a DSLR camera, camcorder, tripod, or other mounting bracket.
Icy Dock has opted for a tool-less design on the CP130, so you don’t need to carry a screwdriver with you. Instead, a simple locking mechanism holds the removable M.2 SSD tray in place. So you can easily switch SSDs.
Compatible with M.2 SSDs in the 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280 and 22110 form factors, the CP130 connects to your DLSR or camera via a CFexpress Type B slot. The interface provides PCIe 3.0 x2 connection with a maximum transmission speed of 16 Gbps.
The CP130 is compatible with Canon cameras like the EOS R3, R5, 1DX, C300 Mark III, and C500 Mark II, Nikon cameras like the Z9, Z7II, D500, and D850, and cameras like the Fujifilm X-H2S and Panasonic Lumix GH6.
Icy Dock has yet to disclose the price and release date of the CP130.
