According to Korean media ETNews, Hyundai plans to launch IONIQ 9 in the second half of this year. This electric vehicle, which uses the same platform as Kia’s EV9, is currently undergoing final prototype road testing in many countries.

IONIQ 9 will be produced at Hyundai’s factories in Asan, South Korea and Georgia, the United States. The actual mass production will be in the fourth quarter of this year, and deliveries to customers will begin early next year.
IONIQ 9 is positioned as a large SUV and is generally similar to the SEVEN concept car previously shown by Hyundai. With an overall length of over 5 meters and a wheelbase of approximately 3.1 meters, the vehicle offers ample space.

Hyundai has been internally debating the name of the model before, and has intended to continue the name of the concept car for a long time and name the production model IONIQ 7.
However, Korean media Korean Car Blog said last month that since the model is Hyundai’s flagship electric car and is positioned similar to Kia EV9, IONIQ 9 is more suitable and has been confirmed as the official name by Hyundai.
The production model will be powered by a 99.8kWh battery and is based on the same version of Hyundai’s E-GMP platform as the Kia EV9. The latter has a cruising range of 501 kilometers, a motor peak power output of 150kW, and a maximum torque of 350N·m.
IONIQ 9 will be optionally equipped with a variety of vehicle accessories from LG Electronics. The two parties have previously collaborated to develop a vehicle refrigerator and shoe and clothing organizer for the SEVEN concept car.
According to previous reports, IONIQ 9 will be officially unveiled at the Busan International Auto Show in South Korea in June.
