Hyundai Motor Group to sell 6.848 million units worldwide by 2022

Hyundai Motor and Kia 2022 global sales show that Hyundai’s 2022 global sales reached 3,944,579 units, an increase of 1.4%. Kia’s global sales for 2022 will be 2,903,619 units, up 4.6 percent year-on-year.

Overall, Hyundai Motor Group’s total global sales in 2022 will be 6,848,198 units, ranking third in the world after Toyota and Volkswagen.

In the global auto market, Hyundai Motor’s sales in markets outside Korea reached 3,255,695 units, a year-on-year increase of 2.9%. In December 2022, Hyundai Motor’s monthly sales in the global market will be 347,340 vehicles, of which sales outside South Korea will be 276,953 vehicles, and the Korean market will be 70,387 vehicles.

Hyundai’s pure electric vehicle IONIQ 5 selling well in the global market and IONIQ 6 successfully launched, the global sales of the two models will exceed 100,000 in 2022.

In 2023, Hyundai Motor has set a global sales target of 4,321,000 units including Genesis, of which the sales target for markets outside Korea is 3,540,000 units, and the domestic sales target for South Korea is 781,000 units. In addition, Hyundai Motor will launch a number of top models including the all-new KONA, Santa Fe (Santa Fe) and Hyundai Motor’s first high-performance electric vehicle, IONIQ (Aini Krypton) 5 N.

Kia, another brand under Hyundai Motor Group, will sell 2,362,551 vehicles in the market outside South Korea in 2022, an increase of 5.4% compared to 2021, and sales in the Korean home market will be 541,068 vehicles. In December 2022, Kia’s monthly sales in the global market will be 236,874 vehicles, an increase of 13.7% compared to 2021. In 2023, Kia has set a global sales target of 3,200,000 units, of which, the sales target for markets outside Korea is 2,614,880 units, and the domestic sales target for South Korea is 585,120 units.

In the field of hydrogen energy, Hyundai Motor’s hydrogen fuel cell vehicle NEXO has sold more than 30,000 vehicles worldwide, with a sales growth of 22% in one year and a market share of 59%.

In the domestic market, in 2022, the seventh-generation Elantra of Beijing Hyundai’s model and the fifth-generation Tucson L + new ix35 SUV will achieve annual sales of more than 100,000 units; 36,000.
