Hyundai executive: Hyundai will always be better than Chinese cars

A few days ago, John Kett, CEO of Hyundai Motor Australia, said in an interview that “Hyundai will always be of higher quality than Chinese cars.”

John Kett was interviewed during the launch of the Hyundai Kona hybrid/electric version. He said: The era of “cheap” Hyundai cars is gone forever. In the past, Hyundai fought price wars with Japanese brands in order to gain market, but relatively Low selling prices cannot bring enough profits to support the research and development of new models. Now, Hyundai Motor will no longer take the low-price route and use more profits to promote technological advancement. This is part of Hyundai’s sustainable business model.

“Hyundai Kona EV”

However, in the Australian market, Hyundai faces not only the Japanese brands of the year, but also Chinese car manufacturers including BYD, Chery, Great Wall and MG, which are also becoming stronger. Combining the launch of Kona EV and the current market situation, John Kett said: Our modern cars will always be better than Chinese cars. We must come up with technology to maintain our leading position. Our premium is worth it to customers.
