Huawei Tag anti-lost device launched with a 99 yuan price tag

At the Nova 10 series event, the anti-lost device, Huawei Tag, made its debut. This device will help its users find their missing belongings. Its small design makes it portable and can be attached to a key, pet collar, or bag.

Huawei Tag anti-lost device features

Huawei Tag

This product marks Huawei’s entry into the tracking device market. It also helps grow Huawei’s ecosystem, as it only connects with HarmonyOS 2.0 devices. It weighs only 6g and is 5.6mm in thickness, so carrying it about isn’t an issue. Not only that, but it also produces a sound that reaches 92dB. This makes locating the smart tag easy.

Another feature of this tag is its battery, which lasts more than a year. It is also water-resistant, so dropping it in water won’t get it spoilt. It also supports NFC, which it uses to get its owner’s information once in lost mode.

Other available tags have security concerns regarding stalking. Huawei did a good job keeping situations of stalking to the barest minimum with this new tag. Once an unknown Huawei Tag is following a user, the trigger safety alert 5 system kicks in. This system alerts its owner (on their Huawei device) of any unknown tag following them. Huawei says that this device notification is almost instant, giving the user ample time to get rid of the unknown tag.

This anti-lost device is currently available for pre-order on Huawei’s official stores in China. The actual sale will begin on July 30. A global launch might follow in the coming weeks.

Purchasing this device will be in three different ways, with varying price tags. The first way will be to purchase just one tag on its own, this will cost 99 yuan (~$15). A buyer can also purchase a bundle of four tags, which will cost 299 yuan (~$45). Lastly, a buyer can purchase the smart tag’s keychain, this will cost 69 yuan (~$10).
