Huawei released its 2022 financial report: total revenue of 642.3 billion RMB

According to Japanese news, Huawei released its 2022 annual report today. The report shows that Huawei’s overall operations are stable, with global sales revenue of 642.3 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 0.9%, and net profit of 35.6 billion RMB, a year-on-year decline of 68.7%. Facing the future, Huawei continues to increase R&D investment. In 2022, R&D investment will reach 161.5 billion RMB, accounting for 25.1% of the annual revenue. The cumulative R&D expenses invested in ten years will exceed 977.3 billion RMB.

Xu Zhijun, Huawei’s rotating chairman, said: “Looking back on 2022, the severe external environment and non-market factors will continue to affect the company’s operations. In the midst of the storm, we continue to run and strive to ensure business continuity and ensure customer support and services; We also work hard to harvest more food so that we can not only survive but also lay the foundation for future development.”

Meng Wanzhou, Huawei’s chief financial officer, said, “After the snow, the plum blossoms are pressing down, and the spring is coming and the sun is shining. In 2022, operations will still face greater pressure. Overall, operating performance is in line with expectations. At the end of 2022, Huawei’s assets and liabilities ratio is 58.9%, and the net cash balance is 176.3 billion RMB. Among the total assets of nearly one trillion RMB, high-liquidity assets such as cash, short-term investment, and operating assets constitute the main part of the assets. The financial situation continues to be stable and has strong resilience. and flexibility. In 2022, the total R&D expenses will be RMB 161.5 billion, and the R&D expense ratio will be 25.1%, which is at a historically high level. Facing the future, we are under pressure and more confident!”

In 2022, Huawei will achieve sales revenue of 284 billion RMB in the operator business field, 133.2 billion RMB in sales revenue from Huawei’s enterprise business, and 214.5 billion RMB in sales revenue from the terminal business. The ICT infrastructure business maintained steady growth, the downward trend of the terminal business slowed down, the digital energy and Huawei Cloud businesses grew rapidly, and the competitiveness of smart car components and user experience improved significantly. Huawei’s cloud computing business continued to grow rapidly, achieving sales revenue of 45.3 billion RMB. Telecom revenue rose 0.9% to 284 billion RMB. Smart car solution components business revenue was 2.1 billion RMB.

Huawei continues to open up platform capabilities such as Hongmeng, Kunpeng, Ascend, and cloud services, optimizes the developer experience, supports ecological partners in all aspects, and cooperates with more than 9 million developers and more than 40,000 ecological partners.

Xu Zhijun, Huawei’s rotating chairman, emphasized: “2023 is a critical year for Huawei’s survival and development. Today’s Huawei is like plum blossoms. The plum blossoms are fragrant because they have experienced severe cold. The pressure we face is undoubtedly huge.
