Huawei will announce the Huawei Pocket S flip phone at 7 PM (local time) in China. It will be the second Pocket-branded clamshell device from the brand after the Snapdragon 888-powered P50 Pocket, which was unveiled in December 2021. Ahead of the launch, a couple of leaks have surfaced on Weibo to reveal the key specifications and design of the Huawei Pocket S.
Several leaks that have appeared on Weibo revealed that the Huawei Pocket S will be a toned-down version of the original model. Instead of the Snapdragon 888 4G chip, the Pocket S will arrive with the Snapdragon 778G onboard. It will arrive in two variants, such as 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, claims the tipster.
It will feature a 6.9-inch foldable OLED panel that will offer a resolution of 2790 x 1180 pixels. On the back, it will have a round-shaped 1.04-inch secondary display with 340 x 340 pixels resolution. The P50 Pocket’s rear camera setup comprises a 40-megapixel main camera and a 32-megapixel ultra-wide camera. While the Pocket S’ will retain the main camera, the 32-megapixel camera will be replaced by a 13-megapixel snapper. On the front, it will be equipped with a 10.7-megapixel selfie camera.
The Huawei Pocket S will come preloaded with HarmonyOS 3. It will be backed by a 4,000mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging. The Pocket S will come in multiple colors like Ice Crystal Blue, Cherry Pink, Mint Gren, Frost Silver, Primrose Gold, and Obsidian Black.
