Huawei Pay now exceeds 100 million active monthly users

Chinese tech giant’s digital payment platform Huawei Pay can boast over 100 million active users. The spam of this payment application available on Huawei devices covers over 160 banks and financial institutions. A driving force of its adoption rate is the wide acceptance of HarmonyOS in Huawei’s dominant market.

The growth of this platform is worthy of our consideration. Originally, the financial application was under the control of Shenzhen Xunlian Zglhifu Network, but things began to change. Huawei took control of this platform and better integrated it into the HarmonyOS ecosystem.

Huawei Pay is an application that helps users make payments with their phones. No physical bank card is needed when making such payments, as only an NFC Huawei smartphone is all a user needs. Instead of bank card numbers, this platform uses device-specific numbers also known as a token to handle payments.

Huawei promises that money on your Huawei Pay account is safe, and your privacy is at the core of its services. Virtually all Huawei devices that support NFC have access to use this payment platform. It is open to regions asides from China, where Huawei is a dominant brand. Some of these regions include Russia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Pakistan, South Africa, and some European countries.

As Huawei’s digital payment platform keeps growing, we can see some similarities it shares with the competition. Other top smartphone brands offer similar payment platforms for their users. Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay are some top players in this field. Just like these payments platforms, Huawei Pay aims at making payments easier and more accessible for its users.
