A blogger recently posted that there is a small detail of the Huawei Mate X3 folding screen phone that is very important to it, that is, the PPI of the inner and outer screens is the same so that the inner and outer screens are the same. The font size of the app is the same size as the interface elements, and more content can be displayed on the inner screen.

In this regard, Huawei Terminal BG CTO Bruce Lee reposted Weibo and conducted popular science. Bruce Lee said that in order to achieve the same PPI as the external screen, the internal screen of Huawei Mate X3 used two specially customized screen driver ICs connected in series to support such a high resolution. Since the products of other manufacturers only use one IC, they have to reduce the PPI of the inner screen, and you will find that the number of lines of the content displayed on the inner screen is less than that of the outer screen.

PPI (Pixels Per Inch) is also called a pixel density unit, which represents the number of pixels per inch. Therefore, the higher the PPI value, means that the display screen can display images with higher density, and the details of the picture will be richer. Both the internal and external screens of Huawei Mate X3 have a PPI of 426, and both support a high refresh rate of 120Hz. Equipped with Huawei’s self-developed Kunlun glass, the machine’s drop resistance has been enhanced to 10 times.
