Huawei achieves sales revenue of 301.6 billion yuan in the first half of 2022, with a net profit margin of 5.0%

August 12, Huawei today released the first half of 2022 (unaudited) financial results.

In the first half of 2022, Huawei achieved sales revenue of 301.6 billion yuan and a net profit margin of 5.0%. Among them, the operator business revenue was 142.7 billion yuan, enterprise business revenue was 54.7 billion yuan, and terminal business revenue was 101.3 billion yuan.

For comparison, Huawei achieved sales revenue of RMB 320.4 billion in the first half of 2021, with a net profit margin of 9.8%; revenue from the carrier business was RMB 136.9 billion, revenue from the enterprise business was RMB 42.9 billion and revenue from the consumer business was RMB 135.7 billion, with overall operating results in line with expectations (excluding the profit from the sale of Glory).

Huawei Chairman-in-Office Hu Houkun said, “Despite the significant impact on our terminal business, our ICT infrastructure business has maintained steady growth. We will actively seize the trend of digitalization and decarbonization to achieve quality growth by creating value for our customers and partners.”

It is worth mentioning that Huawei will achieve global sales revenue of RMB 636.8 billion and net profit of RMB 113.7 billion in 2021, an increase of 75.9% year-on-year. Among them, Huawei’s R&D investment in 2021 reached RMB 142.7 billion, accounting for 22.4% of the annual revenue, and the cumulative R&D expenses invested in the decade exceeded RMB 845 billion.

Huawei achieved sales revenue of RMB 131 billion in the first quarter of 2022, with a net profit margin of 4.3 percent. Huawei’s Chairman-in-Office, Hu Houkun, said, “The overall operating results were in line with expectations, with the consumer business being significantly impacted and the ICT infrastructure business achieving stable growth. In addition, the company invested more in R&D to maintain its ability to continuously innovate and create value for customers.”

Hu Houkun said, “We thank our customers and partners for their trust and support in Huawei. 2022 will be a year of complex and volatile external environment and great operational challenges, and Huawei will work closely with customers and partners around the world to overcome these challenges together.”
