How to get rid of website recommendations in Windows 11 build 25247 to the Start menu

The latest Windows 11 build 25247 has a controversial feature that has upset a lot of Windows Insiders. The latest Windows 11 build 25247 adds a website recommendation feature to the Start menu, making this dissatisfaction even greater.

Fortunately, as with other experimental features in the development channel, users can remove the website recommendations from the Start menu in Windows 11 build 25247. All that is needed is the Vivetool application and a command that also allows users to change the number of recommended websites (two or one).

How to disable website recommendations in Windows 11 build 25247 (Please note that before enabling the hidden option using the ViveTool application, please back up important data.): 1.

  1. Download ViveTool from GitHub and unzip the file.
  2. Press Win + X and select Terminal (Admin).
  3. Press Ctrl + Shift + 2 or click the arrow down button at the top of the window to switch your Windows Terminal to the Command Prompt profile.
  1. Use the CD command to navigate to the folder containing the extracted files. For example, if you have copied the ViveTool to C:\Vive, type CD C:\Vive.

5、Type vivetool/disable/id:40059556 and press the Enter key.

  1. If the recommended site feature is not available, you can try to force enable it using the command vivetool / enable / id:40059556. In addition, the command vivetool/disable/id:40059556/variant:3 can change the number of recommended websites from one to two.
  2. Restart the file manager or the whole system.
