Honor has launched the Honor X40i smartphone in its home country China. The device has been launched as the successor to the Honor X30i, which debuted last year. It comes with a pretty good set of specifications like a 50-megapixels dual rear camera setup and MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G chipset in the budget.
Honor X40i specifications and features
The Honor X40i features a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display with 2388*1080 (FHD+) pixel resolution, up to 16.7 million colours, and a 93.6% screen-to-body ratio. No 90Hz or 120Hz high refresh rate option has been given. Under the hood, it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G chipset coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage.
As for the optics, it has a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixels primary wide sensor with f/1.8 aperture size and a 2-megapixels depth-of-field camera with f/2.4 aperture size. It has got 8-megapixels front selfie snapper with f/2.0 aperture, housed in centre aligned punch-hole cutout. The device packs a 4000mAh battery with support for 40W fast wired charging.

The device will boot up on Android 12 based on Magic UI 6.1. The device measures 7.43mm in thickness and weighs 175 grams. It has got a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock support for the security of the device. Apart from these, all the basic sensors and connectivity features like Bluetooth, WiFi and Hotspot are present on it.
Honor X40i price and variants
The Honor X40i comes in three different variants; 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB. It is priced at CNY 1599 (~$238), CNY 1799 (~$268) and CNY 1999 (~$297) respectively. It will be available in pink, silver, green, and black colour variants.
