The first OTS body-in-white of the Hongqi E001 project rolled off the production line earlier this month. The car is the production version of the new Hongqi Sedan EV, which will be unveiled and launched in 2023.
Hongqi also unveiled the front exterior shots of the new E001 energy model. It is described as the first B-segment, purely electric premium sedan for the new high-fashion pioneer customers, fully based on a new design concept and FMEs super architecture.
The new Hongqi E001 project is the production version of the Hongqi Sedan EV concept car, positioned as a pure electric mid-size sedan with an estimated range of over 1,000 kilometres and support for charging/changing.
In terms of styling, the Hongqi Sedan EV Concept continues to adopt the family design language, with an oversized grille with LED light sources on the front and the brand’s signature red centreline. It also features a short front and rear overhang and hidden door handles.
The Sedan EV will have a long range of 1000+ kilometres and will also support 30kW wireless fast charging, with a range of 350 kilometres in 5 minutes and 0-100km/h in 3 seconds.
