Honda e:N EV line

During an event held yesterday, Honda announced its new electric vehicle line, the Honda e:N (meaning electric next or power new). Though it was released last year, the vehicles that currently make up this vehicle line are preparing to hit the market. The vehicles that make up the Honda e:N line are the GAC Honda Extreme 1 (e:NP1) and its sister model, the Dongfeng Honda (e:NS1).

The Dongfeng Honda e:NS1 is currently on pre-sale with a price range of 180,000-210,000 yuan. The other model, the GAC Honda Extreme 1 (e:NP1) will be available in the month of May. Honda did well to pack these electric cars with a lot of features and power. Let us consider the first electric vehicle from Honda, the Dongfeng Honda (e:NS1) electric SUV, to get in-depth knowledge of what Honda EVs have to offer.

Dongfeng Honda e:NS1 electric SUV full specifications and features

The Dongfeng Honda e:NS1 comes equipped with a ternary lithium battery pack that has a capacity of 68.8 kWh and a cruising range of 510Km. The motor in front of this EV is a 150kW front motor and has a maximum torque of 310Nm. The Honda e:NS1 has a total of three driving modes namely: Sports, Standard, and Economic modes. The size of this vehicle comfortably puts it in the way of a small electric SUV.

Honda Connect 3.0 takes care of all smart configurations in this vehicle. This system supports voice assistant features, energy management and car-home interconnectivity. A driver can access these features via the 15.2-inch central control large screen. There is also a 10.25 inches instrument panel which displays the speedometer and driving sensors used while driving.

One smart feature that Honda ensured to pack with the Honda e:NS1 is the DMC driver status perception system, which helps check the driver fatigue check. It will help to reduce the number of road accidents caused by tiredness while driving.

The Honda e:N series will see the company’s entry into the electric vehicle market in China. The competition they will meet is already fierce with companies like XPengAito and BYD struggling to stay on top. Well, Honda is already a household car brand, so let us see how their EV race will play out for them
