HMD Global to break up with Nokia this year, no more branded phones in the future

According to foreign media Nokiamob, HMD Global, the former Nokia phone manufacturer, is preparing for the “private brand transformation plan” announced last year. The company is gradually “de-Nokiaizing” and is expected to be launched this year. No more Nokia-branded smartphones.

It is reported that HMD Global has changed its X platform account name from @nokiamobile to @HMDglobal, but the account nickname and avatar remain as they are for the time being.

In addition, Nokia’s official website has now removed the “mobile phone section”. Users cannot actually enter the mobile phone category from the official website homepage and can only jump through the nokia.com/phones link. Therefore, foreign media believe that this move means that Nokia will cooperate with HMD Global at any time. The official announced the “breakup” and completely removed the relevant mobile page.

It is discovered that HMD Global will attend this year’s CES 2024 exhibition. It is expected that the company will announce a related “breakup announcement” in the near future. Previously, HMD Global has launched its first “own brand” mobile phone M-Kopa X1. The back of the phone With the M-Kopa logo and the inscription “Designed by HMD”, it is the “vest version” of the Nokia C32 smartphone that is already on the market.
