Hisense Electronics Technology Services Co., Ltd. applied for a “cell phone (curved screen)” appearance patent was published on February 17, showing a vertical wrap-around screen cell phone design.
From the patent image, we can see that the phone’s screen is very distinctive, with a full-screen design on the front and a screen that bends from the bottom to the back, all the way to the rear lens module part.
In addition, the phone uses a right-angle center frame design on the side, equipped with a rear triple camera, no front camera opening, and no lift camera opening at the top, which is expected to be an under-screen front camera.
The phone is also equipped with a number of physical buttons, in addition to the regular volume and power keys, there is a suspected photo key at the bottom, and a button on the other side of the body.
This design is inevitably reminiscent of Xiaomi’s MIX Alpha concept model, except that the MIX Alpha is a horizontal surround, while Hisense’s design is a vertical surround.
Xiaomi has also applied for a similar patent for the appearance of an up-and-down wrap-around screen phone with a larger screen-to-body ratio, but it also looks a bit more conceptual, abandoning the physical buttons.
