Hearth Display introduces 27-inch Display to Replace Whiteboard for Home Task Management

Assigning and managing household tasks and chores via a whiteboard or sticky notes on the refrigerator can be confusing, and it’s impossible to keep every family member installed and constantly updated with a calendar app. So Hearth Display wants to solve this task management problem by placing a giant 27-inch touchscreen display in your home.

The company says Hearth Display is easy to set up, and family members can sync their existing Google calendars through the company’s Web app and will soon support iCal and Outlook. The site also serves as a hub for managing profiles and defining parental controls. Members without devices can use the display’s touch input directly to enter tasks.

Instead of building separate apps for housekeeping and task management, the company has built a Hearth Helper assistant that can be accessed via email or text message. You can send text messages or photos of schedules, such as your child’s weekly school session to update the calendar. 27-inch 1080p display runs Android on the back end and is available in light wood, matte black and matte white frames.

For the past two months, the home technology company has been testing the device with 100 beta testers. And now, consumers can pre-order the display starting July 12 for $499, which will come with a free two-year subscription to the company’s software. The Hearth display will be on general sale next summer for $699, with a software subscription fee of $9 per month.

The company says it is currently working on adding more features to the subscription bundle, such as meal planning and managing related grocery lists. In addition, the team is working to create event conflict reminders so parents can better plan their day when both have prior commitments.
