According to the official news of Great Wall Motor, Great Wall Motor Brazil factory will become the first new energy vehicle factory in Brazil specializing in the production of hybrid and electric vehicles, with the goal of officially starting operations in the first half of next year.
According to the official news, Great Wall Motor’s Brazilian factory in Iracemápolis is being successfully upgraded in accordance with Great Wall Motor’s global smart factory standards, and the modernization and expansion of production lines will be launched in the first half of this year. In the future, the plant’s capacity will increase to 100,000 vehicles per year and will create 2,000 direct jobs.

In addition, Great Wall Motor signed a “Memorandum of Understanding on Hydrogen Energy Development” with the Sao Paulo State Government in Brazil to jointly promote the feasibility study of hydrogen-powered transportation.
According to Great Wall Motor, its Brazil plant will not only meet the supply-demand for intelligent and electric vehicles in Brazil but also serve as the fourth largest production base of Great Wall Motor in the world, radiating the whole Latin American new energy vehicle market.
Great Wall Motors will invest more than R$10 billion (currently about RMB 13.85 billion) in its operations in Brazil over the next 10 years.
