Gurman: New Apple MacBook Pro to launch in early 2023, iMac with M3 chip to launch later

Other than an upgraded chip and potentially faster memory, no other major changes are expected for the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro.

The current 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips were released in October 2021 with a new design, a bangs on the display, and a restored HDMI port, MagSafe, and SD card reader. mac redesigns tend to be spaced out over several years, so it makes sense that the 2023 models will simply be configuration enhancements.

Gurman also revealed that a new iMac with the M3 chip “could be available as early as late 2023,” but didn’t share any further details. Gurman previously said Apple plans to skip releasing an iMac with the M2 chip, adding that Apple is still interested in a new iMac Pro with Apple chips, but it is facing delays internally.

According to Gurman, Apple is also continuing to test new Mac mini models with the M2 and M2 Pro chips, but he did not share a time frame for the launch.
