Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman shared his expectations for Apple’s autumn launch today, revealing several new features of the iPhone 15 series.

Gurman claims that the iPhone 15 Pro is different from current devices with stainless steel frames. The new machine will be more durable, weigh about 10% less, fingerprints have been further reduced, and the metal frame of the product and the edges where the front/back glass meet are now smoother. Additionally, the displays on both Pro models will look noticeably larger, thanks to bezels that have been reduced by about a third.
Gurman also said that the A17 bionic chip equipped with the iPhone 15 Pro series not only improves performance but also improves the battery life of the device. The next-generation device will have more memory, an increase from the 6GB of memory offered by Pro models in recent years.

It is worth mentioning that the new “action button” that replaces the silent switch on the new phone has customized functions, including “silent the phone, turning on focus mode, turning on the flashlight, starting the camera, starting recording, turning on Siri shortcuts, turning on the digital magnifying glass and Open Accessibility Settings” for more tasks.
In terms of imaging, Gurman revealed that the telephoto and ultra-wide-angle cameras of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be further improved than the previous generation cameras, exceeding 12 million pixels for the first time. Gurman also clarified that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will retain its “Pro Max” moniker and will not be given the “Ultra” moniker as some previous rumours suggested.
The iPhone 15 series will use the new “U2” chip, which is the first upgrade since the U1 chip was used in the iPhone 11 Pro phone in 2019. The new chip will improve location capabilities, allowing for more accurate tracking of people and devices in the Find My app. It will appear in all next versions of Apple’s major products, and another overall upgrade is that the iPhone 15 series will support faster wireless charging and a more repairable design.

In addition, Gurman reiterated his previous revelations about the iPhone 15 series. Including the smart island design of the entire series, the 48-megapixel main camera of the iPhone 15/15 Plus, the periscope telephoto camera of the iPhone 15 Pro Max (can achieve up to 6x optical zoom), etc.
