GPD WIN4 2023 handheld price announced: R7 7840U processor, starting at RMB 4999

GPD today announced the price of the new WIN4 2023 handheld, R5 7640U models from RMB 3999 and R7 7840U models from RMM 4999. At the same time, GPD G1 docking station prices were also announced, starting at RMB 3,899.

WIN 4 (2023) will provide AMD R7 7840U and AMD R5 7640U two versions; memory upgraded to LPDDR5x 7500 MT / s, divided into 16GB / 32GB / 64GB three versions; SSD fully upgraded to PCIe Gen 4, the brand is still Baiwei, Cheung Kong storage particles, large-capacity TLC will have 512GB / 2TB. The SSD will be upgraded to PCIe Gen 4, still branded as Blackwell, with Changjiang storage particles and high-capacity TLC, and will be available in 512GB/2TB/4TB versions.

In terms of screen, GPD WIN 4 adopts a 6-inch eye-protecting screen with 1080P resolution and 368PPI, covered with 5th generation Corning Gorilla Glass, and supports two refresh rates of 60Hz and 40Hz.

In terms of design, GPD WIN 4 draws on the rounded design of the PSP at both ends of the handheld’s body to spread out the force when gripping, and the center of the grip adopts a protruding design that is ergonomic; fingerprint recognition has been moved to the left side, and the right side adds an optical finger mouse, which was used on the earlier Pocket 2, and it supports the downward pressing of the “Enter” button to avoid repeated adjustments of the “handle”. Avoid repeatedly adjusting the “joystick/mouse” switch; added 6-axis gyroscope support, somatosensory games can be played; joystick back to the traditional staggered layout, the joystick cap is split into a skirt and cap, the cap can be clamped to the skirt, so that it is not easy to fall off; the keyboard back to the traditional pot piece of the keypad, to retain the backlight at the same time, the brightness can be adjusted off; dual Type C ports, in the case of the Pocket 2, the keyboard can be turned off; the keyboard can be turned on and off at the same time. Dual Type C ports allow for charging while connected to a monitor; the shoulder keys have a colourful light effect that can be switched between multiple modes.

The G1 Docking Station features the Radeon RX 7600M XT with 32 MB Infinity Cache, 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM and 32 compute units. The docking station measures 225 x 111 x 29.8 mm.
