Game console company GPD recently updated the Win Max 2 product project page on the Indiegogo platform, stating that due to supply issues with Ryzen 7000 mobile processors, the shipment of this game console has been delayed.
GPD says AMD has delayed the delivery of the processors used in Win Max 2, specifically noting that the eight-core Ryzen 7 7840U chip is currently in shortage.
GPD stated in the announcement that AMD violated the terms of the contract and failed to deliver the second batch of processors on time. This is also a rare public contradiction between suppliers and OEM manufacturers. Attached the pictures as follows:
VideoCardz believes that GPD’s public disclosure of these issues exposed the company’s heavy reliance on AMD processors for its products. In addition to the Win Max 2, the company also released Win Mini and Win 4 models equipped with Ryzen 77840U and Ryzen 5 7640U. GPD has no choice but to wait for AMD to supply it.
