Based on reports from The Information, 9to5Google and other foreign media, Google is developing a new AI assistant based on its latest Gemini model. It will be an exclusive assistant for Pixel devices, named “Pixie” .
According to the report, Pixie will be a “more personalized” Google Assistant, aiming to perform complex multi-modal tasks using Gmail, Maps and other data from Google products on Pixel series phones. For example, recommend the store nearest to the user.
This new AI assistant may debut with the Pixel 9/Pro series phones launched next year, and is different from the “Assistant with Bard” launched by Google in October this year.
Google recently launched Gemini Nano for the Pixel 8 Pro series of phones, which is used for a series of functions such as Gboard input method smart replies. The Pixel team has said that the wider Gemini model will bring a slew of new features to “Assistant with Bard” on Pixel phones by early next year.
According to reports, “Pixie” may be the next version of “Assistant with Bard”, and Google also hopes to introduce it to devices such as smartphones and watches with slightly lower positioning.
In addition, Google has also internally discussed an AR glasses with built-in AI functions, which are said to provide users with various suggestions, including how to operate tools, solve math problems, or play musical instruments – which means that the glasses will be equipped with cameras to Voice or display interface to complete the output work.
According to previous reports, Google announced in October this year that it would soon release a virtual assistant powered by Bard to help users handle more complex tasks. The new product, called “Google Assistant with Bard,” will soon enter testing before rolling out to the public in the coming months.
