Google did not launch a new Pixel Feature Drop today, but details about the March 2023 update have been exposed.
Similar to the Pixel Feature Drop released in December last year, this update also applies to Pixel phones and watches. On the Pixel Watch side, this update focuses on fall detection, which is now rolling out via a server-side update, and users got the update last Friday.
After the Pixel Watch detects that the wearer has fallen, if the wearer does not respond within 30 seconds, the Pixel Watch will vibrate, sound an alarm and display an on-screen notification to check that the user is OK.
An on-screen notification asks the wearer to tap either “I’m OK” or “I fell & need help,” depending on their situation. If the latter is chosen, emergency services will be called for assistance.
If the user still does not interact with the interface, the watch alarm will continue to sound for one minute, getting louder each time. If there is no response, emergency services will be called automatically.
This Pixel Feature Drop did not bring too many new features to Pixel phones. The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro models have received the Night Sight function, which is supported by the Google Tensor chip to optimize the camera’s shooting speed and quality in low-light environments.

Both the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro models speed up Night Sight even further, requiring half the normal exposure time to produce beautiful low-light images that are clearer than before.

Another notable improvement is that after installing this update, Pixel phones will come with the Health Connect app pre-installed.
