Google should have launched a Chrome 115 browser update, the new version did not introduce too many new features, the main change is the introduction of Topics API, will track alternative cookies cross-site tracking method.
Another noteworthy improvement in Chrome 115 is the integration of Mica design elements into the Win11 desktop.
The Win11 22H2 update adds Mica support to the Desktop Window Manager (DWM) via the new “DWM_SYSTEMBACKDROP_TYPE” variable, allowing users to incorporate Mica elements into traditional Win32 applications.
Note: Mica is an opaque, dynamic material that contains themes and desktop wallpapers for drawing backgrounds for long-term windows such as applications and settings.
Mica is specifically designed for the performance optimization of applications, and it samples the desktop wallpaper only once to create its visualization.
Mica Alt is a variant of Mica with enhanced color shading of the user’s desktop background color. Mica Alt can be applied to an application’s background to provide a deeper visual hierarchy than Mica, especially when creating applications with tabbed title bars.
