Google today released a Feature Drop for the Pixel 8 Pro phone, allowing it to measure body temperature.
Google said that this update further unlocks the temperature sensor function of the Pixel 8 Pro phone and can now record human body temperature through the thermometer app. The company calls this a “medical-grade feature,” which only means it has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Pixel 8 Pro users can now scan their (or someone else’s) forehead with their phone to get a temperature reading, and users can also save the results to their Fitbit profile to gain a deeper understanding of their health.
