Google today released the Android 14 Beta 2.1 patch to fix bugs and improve stability for devices running the beta version of Android 14.
Google Pixel 4a to Pixel 7 Pro series models will receive this update patch push, summary update content is as follows:
- Device setup complete: Users who encountered problems when opting out of the beta program can now complete device setup normally. To ensure stability, it is recommended to update the device system to Android 14 Beta 2.1 and reset the screen lock-related settings before exiting.
- Battery percentage display: The battery percentage previously displayed 0% no matter how much power was charged into the phone, but this has been fixed to display properly.
- Audio interruption: Now fixes an issue where the speaker would interrupt for no reason while playing sound.
- System Stability: Addresses a previous stability issue where apps would freeze or the device would crash.
- App fixes: Addresses an issue with the Google Photos app when users try to open certain photos; also, the Google Contacts app crashes when managing account settings has been fixed.
- Miscellaneous fixes: Other fixes include resolving the disappearance of the picture-in-picture window using the Google TV app when using gestures, fixing an issue with no Google Messages app icon in notifications, and resolving an issue with Always Show Mode when used with Android Auto.
Users with the Pixel 4a through Pixel 7 Pro series models who have signed up for Android Beta will automatically receive a push of the update.
Users with phones in the Android 13 QPR3 beta who do not want to update will continue to receive QPR3 Beta updates but can join the Android Beta update program through the Android Beta website.
