For a while now, there have been leaks and rumours pointing to a certain Google Pixel Fold. The release of the Android 12L version showed off some software features that the Pixel Fold will come with. But it has just been rumours after rumours, with no actual data-based facts to point to the launch of a foldable device from Google. It was as if a folding device from Google was unlikely to happen any time soon. But recent information has resurfaced about the launch of a foldable smartphone from the Mountain View tech giant.
In a recent tweet from Ross Young, the Display Supply Chain Consultant stated that the Google Pixel Fold outer screen will measure 5.8 inches. This information regarding size shows that the Google fold device will be similar in size to the OPPO Find N.
He also went on to state that more information about this folding device will be divulged at the Google I/O event next week. This proves that the launch date of this device is drawing even closer.
The Pixel Fold will launch with Android 13 and might still keep some large screen features that the Android 12L update brought. The price of this device is not yet certain, but it will launch in Q4 of 2022.
Previous leaks have claimed that the Pixel Fold will be cheaper than the rival foldable from Samsung, thereby giving it a possible edge over the competition. We will wait for this device to launch before making any conclusions on the specs or the exact pricing of this device.
