Again the Google Pixel Fold production is delayed, this time around we should be expecting it sometime in 2023. A lot of leaks have given away some specifications of this device, yet no information from Google. Originally, the Pixel Fold was expected during the Google launch event this year. But all hopes to see a foldable smartphone from Google this year now seem very unlikely.
During the Google I/O event, the company showed off a few of its coming devices. Making the list were, the Pixel 7 series, Pixel Watch, and tablet to launch (in future), but, no foldable device. Aside from the leaks, there is no evidence from the company of a Pixel Fold to launch this year.
That doesn’t mean that we won’t see any other foldable devices this year. We already have seen a few of them, such as the Huawei Mate Xs 2. In the fourth quarter of the year, we are expecting the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Fold 4.
Google seems to be preparing the ground for the launch of its foldable device. We can see evidence of software upgrades to suit larger screens like tablets and foldable. Google’s recent interest in app optimization for the larger screen can prove that a foldable is in the work.
Asides from software, we already know that the Google Pixel Fold will feature a 7.57-inch foldable screen. This screen will be from Samsung Display, suppliers of the screens on a Galaxy Fold models. Information from our source also shows that the hinge of this device is in work and will be from suppler Nexplus. So, definitely a foldable device from Google is coming, we need to wait patiently.
