Google is bringing native support for spatial audio to the Google Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro phones. This adds directional filters to sound and simulates a surround sound experience when listening to music or watching content from supported apps. Now, the latest update to the Google Pixel Buds app brings a hidden menu called “Spatial Audio”.
According to 9to5Google, the menu includes a switch to enable spatial audio and head-tracking features. A demo is also built into the app’s settings to preview the effect of enabling the feature. A disclaimer at the bottom of the menu reminds users that the feature is only available for supported content.
Google Pixel Buds Pro wireless headphones are expected to push out a firmware update in March to enable head tracking.
The Pixel Buds Pro is available in four colors: coral, lemongrass, fog and charcoal, and the Pixel Buds Pro supports easy switching between multiple devices. Including the charging case, the headset can last up to 33 hours (20 hours with ANC on).
Google Pixel Buds Pro headset body eliminates the ear hook design, and the overall more concise and dry, single ear weighs 6.1 grams, contains a custom 6-core audio chip, supports Bluetooth 5.0 protocol, supports pass-through/active noise cancellation/call noise reduction function, supports IPX4 level waterproof.
