Google launched its Pixel line of wireless earbuds in 2020, originally planned to target Apple’s AirPods but fell short of expectations, with major drawbacks including connectivity issues and short battery life. But now news is that Google may soon address these pain points with the Pro version of the Pixel Buds.
According to leaker @Jon Prosser, Google will launch a pair of high-end wireless earbuds dubbed the Pixel Buds Pro. This could mean that Google is re-challenging the high-end wireless earbuds market dominated by Apple’s AirPods Pro and Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Pro.
The Google Pixel Buds Pro are said to be available in a variety of colorways: Real Red, Carbon, Limoncello, and Fog, but we know almost nothing beyond that. Having said that, it is certain that this new product will have active noise cancellation.
In addition, Prosser also claimed that the Pixel Buds Pro will arrive soon, but did not give a specific date. However, it was previously reported that the new Pixel product will be launched at the recent Google I/O 2022 event (May 11, 2022), although there has been no previous news about the headset.
