After the official announcement of the new large language model Gemini 1.0 yesturday, Google announced that it would add support for Gemini Nano to the Pixel 8 Pro model.
It is said that Gemini Nano is a model version specially built to run locally on small devices. It will officially debut in this month’s update. At that time, the built-in recording App of the machine will support the key summary function, and the Gboard input method will support ” Smart reply” function.
For example, when the user opens the “Recording” App, selects the recording file and clicks the “Transcript” tab, and then clicks the “Summary” button at the top, the App will generate multiple key points related to the recording content. It is worth mentioning that this feature is still available offline.
In the Gboard input method, Gemini Nano will achieve “high-quality dialogue-aware replies”. WhatsApp will be the first app to support smart replies, and other apps will also receive support next year. However, the feature currently only supports US English in WhatsApp.
