Google previewed the Pixel tablet at the 2022 I/O Developers Conference, but it was not released with the Pixel 7 series in October last year. According to foreign technology media 9to5Google, Google will launch a matching docking station for this tablet, which can be used as a smart screen after connection.
The dock is similar to the bottom of the Nest Hub Max, and may even use the same power connector. The dock magnetically connects and secures the Pixel tablet, charging it through four pogo-pin contacts.
9to5Google discovered the Pixel tablet’s “Hub Mode” in the code by reverse-engineering the Google Home app, which is automatically activated by attaching the tablet to the dock.
