According to DigiTimes reports, it was learned from supply chain sources that Google is currently considering developing a foldable tablet device, which is expected to be released at next year’s I/O Developers Conference.
Google is currently considering it, and has not started related development work internally, nor has it planned an existing roadmap for the future.
The report only said that if Google were to launch a foldable tablet, it would become a heavyweight product at the I/O Developers Conference next year.
Samsung has shown off Android-based concepts for foldable screens, but none of those have made it to market.
It was previously reported that Apple is currently developing a 20-inch foldable device with Samsung Display and LG Display.
Baek Seung-in revealed at the event that he is currently working with LG Display to develop a foldable 20-inch tablet and notebook hybrid device for Apple, but he said it will take longer to prepare.
Ross Young said in February that Apple is developing a 20.5-inch foldable laptop that could be released as soon as 2025.
