Google Gmail will no longer allow users to revert back to its old interface

Google announced today that it is making the new Gmail interface a standard experience for users. The company first released the new interface earlier this year, but allows users to revert to the original view. Now it looks like the company has done enough new to the new interface that starting this month, users will no longer have the option to go back to the old interface.

“The combined view of Gmail, Chats, Spaces, and Meet on the left side of the window will also be standard for users with Chat turned on,” the company said in a blog post. With quick settings, you can customize this new interface to include the apps that matter most to you, whether it’s Gmail itself or a combination of Gmail, Chat, Spaces, and Meetings. “

Google notes that the ability to customize the new interface makes it easier to stay on top of things and reduces the need to switch between various apps, windows or tabs.

Notably, with this new change, users will no longer have the option to configure chat on the right side of Gmail.

The company’s decision to make its new UI a standard experience isn’t surprising, but it can be a frustrating change for users who prefer the old design.
