According to 9to5 Google, Google’s Gboard input method has appeared on Android tablets since it launched a separate keyboard for folding screen devices in June last year.
When users can enable the “Split layout to include duplicate keys” option in Settings > Preferences > Layout, the Gboard split keyboard places the same number of keys on the left and right, by default: “When the keyboard is set to a split layout, some keys are repeated on both sides.” Note: Users can quickly switch between the “Standard” and “Split Keyboard” options via toolbar tiles.
9to5 Google spotted this on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 tablet running Gboard Beta 12.9.21.
Meanwhile, the Gboard toolbar redesign has yet to roll out widely after first appearing in February of this year.
