Google Data Safety feature got introduced back in the month of May 2021. This feature has the intent of bringing a full rundown of what data every app in the PlayStore uses. Google gave developers until July 20 to publish a full rundown of what data they make use of in their activities.
With the deadline that developers have drawing closer, we are now getting information of some “abnormalities” in the Data Safety section. Over the past few months, PlayStore has begun adding an interface that tells the data most applications use. But it seems as though this new interface is pushing out a privacy feature that PlayStore had for years.

This feature in question is an auto-generated list that tells all permissions an app requires from a user. This list came directly from a scan Google PlayStore conducts on every application on its platform. By kicking out this feature (from user access) Google is in effect giving developers the mantle to tell what permissions their apps need.
Most people will concern themselves with the credibility of these developers and the information they upload. Truthfully, certain bad actors might falsify their list of permissions, hence gaining access to certain data of unsuspecting users. Well, the Google Data Safety feature might have an antidote to this problem if it occurs.
Yes, developers get to tell what permissions their applications need to function. But, Google on its part has warned that any false information will attract consequences on the said developer. So, Google still has a way to scan these applications and know what permissions they request. We might not be able to gain access to this scan feature and only get to see information from the developer.
