Microsoft’s Bing Chat and Google’s Bard have dramatically changed the way users search by way of chat. But both are web-based, and the content provided is not always entirely correct.
One user, Juan Buis, asked Bard: “How long could Google run Bard before shutting it down?” And Bard replied, “Google has shut down Bard on March 21, 2023, less than six months after its launch.
In many users’ jokes, Google has a “shutdown department” that specializes in cutting services such as Google Reader that have low user activity and poor profitability. Netizens have even created the killedbygoogle website, dedicated to the services that Google has cut.
The report that Tom Warren, editor-in-chief of foreign technology media The Verge, asked Bing Chat again and got a reply that it will still be closed on March 21. The article also includes links to the content of Windows Central and other media outlets.
Warren says this information actually came from a user comment on Hacker News.
