0

At the Google Asia Pacific Sustainability Conference, Google pledged to operate all data centers and campuses worldwide with 24/7 carbon free energy by 2030.

At the conference, Google engineers introduced the new Air Quality feature in Google Search and Google Maps, which uses AI technology to help people see the day’s air quality, whether it’s unusually foggy or dangerously smoky.

In terms of investing in innovation, startups can now access funding through the Google Startup Accelerator: Circular Economy program, which is designed to help companies that are innovating with the goal of reducing waste.

In terms of supporting partners to achieve sustainability goals, Google believes that where it can make the most difference, whether working with cities, governments, companies or nonprofits, is in providing technology to its partners. According to feedback from Google.org grantees, AI technology has enabled them to achieve their goals in a third of the time and at nearly half the cost.
