Developer Javier Jardón has announced the second maintenance update for the GNOME 43 desktop environment via GNOME Discourse. This maintenance update improves many components, including window adjustment, window screenshots, screencast UI, and more.
The new release improves support for the Mali GPU and Intel’s new i915 driver, further enhances support for Wayland, fixes Wayland keyboard issues, and more.
The update also fixes a number of bugs in GNOME Shell and Mutter, including duplicate entries in the Volume Devices menu, missing names in the Wired Network Quick Setup button, switching input sources, default keyboard layout during initial setup, unresponsive screen areas when opening Quick Setup, tracking newly installed applications, displaying passwords as on-screen keyboard suggestions, and more.
GNOME 43.2 also improves Bluetooth support with an update to the gnome-Bluetooth application that fixes an issue where the pairing dialog for some Bluetooth Classic keyboards appears wired, where the password box disappears after the first number is entered.
IT Home has learned that GNOME 43.2 will be available in the stable repositories of various GNU/Linux distributions in early January next year after its official release.
