Geely’s SEA platform authorizes Poland’s Izera to produce pure electric vehicles

Geely Holding Group and Polish manufacturer ElectroMobility Poland (EMP) announced the establishment of a partnership on Thursday. Used by car companies.

Li Donghui, CEO of Geely, said: “Poland plays an important role in the European automotive industry, and I believe this agreement will accelerate the transition to the electric vehicle era and create wider economic opportunities in the field of electric vehicles.”

The two companies said they will use Geely’s SEA platform to build the Izera series of electric vehicles, which will also make it SEA’s first external customer.

According to reports, the first batch of vehicle-oriented compact SUVs will be produced at EMP’s Jaworzno plant in southern Poland. Details will be announced in due course.

The information shows that ElectroMobility Poland is of great significance in the Polish automotive industry, which is currently transitioning towards electrification. In addition to the authorization from Geely this time, Geely Holdings will also become a technical partner of the IZERA brand series models.

Geely launched the SEA platform in September 2020. The platform has flexibility and advanced technical architecture, covering hardware, software and a wide digital ecosystem. Currently, some models of brands such as Smart and Jikr are based on this platform.

The platform is compatible with A-segment to E-segment and even commercial vehicles with a wheelbase ranging from 1800 mm to 3300 mm, while the IZERA brand will initially produce a compact SUV and the other two will be a C-segment wagon and a hatchback.
