According to reports, Geely is in the initial stage of negotiations to enter the Thai market. Geely hopes to introduce electric pickups from its sub-brand Radar and entry-level electric cars from the Geometry brand in Thailand. Negotiations have been complicated by the fact that Geely has delegated work to sub-brands such as Geometry and Radar, the report said.

In addition, Reuters also said that Geely is currently evaluating the possibility of building a factory in Thailand. Geely’s spokesman responded that the company had no plan to build the factory and refused to provide any details about the negotiation of investment projects in Thailand.

Previously, Narit Therdsteerasukdi, secretary-general of the Thailand Investment Commission, revealed that during his visit to China in April, he met with executives of five large Chinese automakers, including Geely and BYD, and all participants praised Thailand’s regional electric vehicle manufacturing center. target and expressed interest in joining Thailand’s electric vehicle supply chain.

It is noticed that Thailand is the tenth largest car producer in the world, and its goal is to increase the production capacity of electric vehicles to 750,000 per year by 2030.
