Global end-user spending on public cloud services is expected to reach $591.8 billion in 2023, up 20.7 percent from $490.3 billion in 2022 and above the 18.8 percent growth forecast for 2022, according to Gartner’s latest forecast.
Gartner expects all segments to experience growth in 2023, with end-user spending on infrastructure as a service (IaaS) expected to see the largest growth of 29.8 percent in 2023.
Gartner expects that the segments most impacted by inflation will be Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS), given the staffing challenges and focus on protecting margins, but both segments will continue to grow. Gartner forecasts PaaS to grow 23.2% and SaaS to grow 16.8% in 2023.
