Gartner: 80% of enterprises will adopt generative AI by 2026

Analysis company Gartner recently released a report, predicting that by 2026, more than 80% of enterprises will use generative AI application programming interfaces (APIs) or models, or deploy support for generative AI in relevant production environments. AI applications.

The analyst firm claims that less than 5% of enterprises today use generative AI in production environments, and in just three years, the number of enterprises adopting or creating generative AI models is expected to grow 16 times.

Gartner Distinguished Vice President Analyst Arun Chandrasekaran believes that generative AI will become the “top priority” of enterprise management and will also trigger huge innovations in new tools beyond basic models. In the future, it will include “health care, life sciences, law, finance There is an increasing demand for generative AI in industries such as the “Services and Public Sector”.

Gartner believes that generative AI can improve the user experience and improve the processing speed of various tasks. As applications gradually add related functions, industry practitioners also need to master related application technologies.

Arun Chandrasekaran said, “The most common pattern in current generative AI is to ‘use text to generate something’. However, related applications still have certain shortcomings, such as ‘illusions and inaccuracies’. These two problems may limit the industry’s broad adopt relevant technologies.”

In addition, Gartner predicts that the basic model will enter the “peak stage” on the technology maturity curve (Note: The basic model is the machine learning model corresponding to generative AI, such as the relationship between GPT and ChatGPT). By 2027, The basic model will support 60% of natural language processing (NLP) use cases, a significant increase from “less than 5%” in 2021.
