Galaxy Z Fold4 S Pen reportedly enters mass production phase

0

Recent reports have revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold4 is in development. In August of this year, Samsung is expected to unveil a premium foldable phone with an accompanying S Pen that has reportedly begun mass production. Even though the most recent leaks on the foldable haven’t revealed anything new about the actual device, it appears that Samsung is already preparing for its release. According to leaker Mukul Sharma of @stufflistings fame, S Pen production for Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4 has begun in several Eurasian countries. Another tipster, Ice Universe, says that the Z Fold4 will not feature an S Pen slot like its predecessor model.

The new leak by Sharma only confirms S Pen support, which isn’t surprising since the Galaxy Z Fold3 already has support for the S Pen on board. There aren’t many specifics in the tweet, so it’s hard to say how this S Pen differs from the S Pen Fold Edition or S Pen Pro from last year. Based on the information shared by the other tipster, it can be said that the South Korean tech giant may have started mass production of the Fold Edition or Pro version of the S Pen for the Galaxy Z Fold4 and not the regular S Pen.

Because the S Pen is almost as thick as the phone, Samsung could presumably have to make the Z Fold4 thicker in order to accommodate the stylus in the Z Fold 4’s second iteration. This could be a problem since the Z Fold3 itself is very thick. Other than that, the South Korean giant may reduce the battery capacity, but this isn’t something that’s planned, according to reports. As an accessory for the Galaxy Z Fold3, Samsung launched the S Pen Fold Edition with a thinner version of the S-Pen. If rumors are to be believed, the new S-Pen is currently in production.

Moving forward, the Z Fold 4 is anticipated to be more durable than its previous model and to keep a physical fingerprint sensor. A high-resolution main lens, as well as a 3x telephoto lens, are expected to be included in the phone, making it Samsung’s first flagship-level camera setup. It could be one of the best camera phones of 2022. In addition, a slightly larger battery has been rumored to be incorporated.
