From multiple sources, DigiTimes reports that Wi-Fi 6E is only a transitional technology and that Wi-Fi 7 technology will be available in 2024. The first Wi-Fi 7-enabled device will be Samsung’s Galaxy S24, which will have a 300MHz channel and support 4K Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) technology for up to 2.4x faster speeds than Wi-Fi 6 with the same number of antennas.
According to information from the Wi-Fi Alliance, Wi-Fi 7 will offer speeds of at least 30Gbps and could even reach 40Gbps, a significant improvement from the current 9.6Gbps offered by Wi-Fi 6. On top of that, Wi-Fi 7 is expected to bring even faster speeds to the next generation of augmented (AR) / virtual reality (VR), 8K video streaming and gaming devices.
