While the Galaxy S23 Ultra is still some time away from its official release, it’s safe to say that those who skipped the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be looking forward to Samsung’s next entry. Right now, we don’t have many details about the upcoming flagship, but a new hint suggests that the flagship will use a new, unannounced 200-megapixel camera sensor that will undoubtedly make waves in the mobile imaging market.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra will not use Samsung’s ISOCELL HP1 or ISOCELL HM3 sensors. Why? The HM1 is already being used by other companies, while the HM3 has been announced since May.
According to prominent source Ice Universe, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will come with a 200 megapixel sensor, which has not been disclosed to the public yet, which rules out the HM1 and HP3 because, as mentioned above, they are both already available.
At the time of writing, we still don’t know anything about the mysterious 200 megapixel sensor for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, but it could be a variant of the HM3 with further improvements. However, considering the pace of flagships from other labels catching up, there should be a good chance that a 1-inch sensor will be available.
Only time will tell what Samsung has in store for everyone waiting for the Galaxy S23 series. Suffice it to say, we won’t be hearing anything about these flagships anytime soon, but we may get some information by the end of this year. While Samsung is currently busy preparing for the release of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 on the 10th of next month, the Galaxy S23 series is already in development.
