With the official launch of NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4090 flagship gaming graphics card, various manufacturers and media have also intensively shared their benchmark results. In addition, the Brazilian overclocking team of GALAX pushed the GPU frequency of the RTX 4090 to an astonishing 3.45 GHz under the blessing of liquid nitrogen and broke five world records. Ronaldo Buassali, GALAX Brazil OC team and TechLab leader, just shared the latest results.

The GALAX RTX 4090 SG graphics card was used for this round of testing, featuring an ultra-compact PCB design, complemented by an 18+4 phase core/disk power supply design.
Ronaldo Buassali explained that the default overclocking ability of the RTX 4090 is quite outstanding, and the original air-cooled radiator can soar to the core/memory frequency of 3075 / 15000 MHz.
Hassan Mujtaba of WCCFTech confirmed this, because they also successfully pushed the GPU frequency of the RTX 4090 non-public model to 3150 MHz and the memory frequency to 15000+ MHz after lifting the power consumption limit and pressure.
However, in order to push the limit under liquid nitrogen heat dissipation, the GALAX OC team also made some custom modifications to the graphics card PCB – such as trimming the potentiometer and modifying the voltage.
In addition, Ronaldo Buassali completely lifted the power consumption limit of the GALAX RTX 4090 SG graphics card, supplemented by an insulation modification dedicated to liquid nitrogen overclocking.
However, in the process of overclocking challenges, the GALAX Brazil overclocking team also had to overcome some obstacles. Especially limited by the BIOS, the card doesn’t seem to like temperatures below -110 to -100°C.
For other OC enthusiasts, Ronaldo Buassali revealed an important piece of information – the RTX 4090 is very voltage sensitive.
Just adding the voltage from 1.10V to 1.15V makes a huge difference in performance. However, under extreme OC conditions, the RTX 4090 graphics card up to 3.45 GHz still loses some performance.
